The Bukharian Times reported that the production, from the Hebrew Theater, has toured Toronto, New Jersey, Florida, Los Angeles and the San Francisco Bay Area. “I am incredibly proud and excited to return once again to New York, to an audience I love and appreciate so deeply, to what I truly consider my second home,” Davidov told the newspaper. The paper reported that the North American production is led by Aviva Mosioff, a longtime New Yorker and member of the Bukharian Jewish community. Atzmon told the newspaper that the humor and cultural references “work exactly as they do back home.” Background Handa-Handa, which Davidov co-founded, stages comedy drawn from Bukharian family life and immigration, and according to The Bukharian Times has entertained Bukharian Jewish audiences for more than two decades. Davidov has also appeared in the series Tehran and the Netflix series Bros, and, according to the newspaper, plays an IDF officer in Avi Nesher’s new film Our Loves, which deals with the events of Oct. 7. Davidov told The Bukharian Times that Handa-Handa is preparing a new comedy-drama, LEV (Heart), created with Ronen Davidov, about an immigrant family arriving in Israel in 1991. It stars the Davidov brothers with Alik Shimonov, Tatiana Makhlinovsky and Irina Abayev, and New York performances are scheduled for Feb. 20–21 and March 6–7, the newspaper reported.
