Kaykov TV has posted a short clip from its upcoming interview with Rabbi Shlomo Nisanov, the Queens rabbi and community leader. In it he speaks about the death of his daughter and why, in his heart, she remains his child.
The 55-second clip, “‘I Didn’t Lose a Child.’ — Rabbi Shlomo Nisanov,” went up on the channel on Friday, Oct. 16, 2026. The channel calls it “one of the most emotional moments on Kaykov TV” and “a powerful message about faith, grief, family, and finding the strength to keep living after tragedy.”
The full conversation
The full interview with host Roman Kaykov is set to premiere on the channel on Monday, Oct. 19, at 12 p.m. Eastern. According to its published description, it was recorded on Oct. 7, 2026, the third anniversary of the Hamas attack, so it opens with reflections on that day, Israel, faith and Jewish unity. The description calls Rabbi Nisanov “a rabbi, a community leader and one of the best-known representatives of New York’s Bukharian Jewish community.”
The episode timeline lists these segments:
- his 36 years in the rabbinate and why he sees it as a calling
- the birth of a grandson
- a rabbis’ trip to Israel after Oct. 7
- keeping faith after tragedy and the loss of his daughter
- the problems Jewish families face today
- keeping children connected to Judaism in America
- marriage and shalom bayit
- “why it is important to be proud to be a Bukharian Jew”
- what makes Bukharian traditions unique, “not just plov and samsa”
Another part of the interview covers his meeting with Mayor Zohran Mamdani at the community food pantry. The timeline includes a segment in which Rabbi Nisanov’s mother addresses the mayor directly, along with segments on fighting antisemitism, a conversation Rabbi Nisanov held at the Jamaica Muslim Center after Oct. 7, and the need to build bridges even with people with whom there are serious disagreements. Bukharian Jewish Post reported on the mayor’s Sept. 28 pantry visit on Oct. 14.
Quotations from the episode description were translated from Russian by Bukharian Jewish Post.
